Pomerantz has been at the vanguard of representing Israeli pension funds, investment firms, and publicly traded companies in U.S. class actions. Its leadership role has been recognized by the Israeli financial press. Indeed, Pomerantz achieved historic results in In re Comverse Technology, Inc. Sec. Litig., where it represented the largest private pension scheme in Israel, Menora Mivtachim Pensions, Ltd. The $225 million dollar recovery in that class action is the second largest options back dating settlement to date, and the largest securities class action settlement involving an Israeli Lead Plaintiff.
Pomerantz has partnered with a well regarded Israeli law firm, the Sulami-Lavie Law Firm, to advise Israeli institutions regarding their ability to recover monies form U.S. class action settlements. Together, the firms advise over a dozen insurance companies and investment houses regarding their rights under the U.S. securities laws.
Pomerantz has also represented Israeli companies in individual actions. In 2008, Pomerantz represented Incredimail, Ltd. in an arbitration against Credit Suisse regarding its fraudulent marketing of Auction Rate Securities ("ARS"). Pomerantz recouped IncrediMail's entire investment.
Moreover, Pomerantz has defended Israeli Corporations in U.S. class actions. Recently the firm's aggressive representation of an Israeli company listed on the NASDAQ resulted in the withdrawal of the action for no payment, prior to any discovery.
